General Questions

 

  I got an error message that says "Invalid Session", what should I do?
    Your session has timed out. Please go back to our home page and navigate to the page you desired.
     
  Why can't I log in?
    Only approved users (tutors and students) will be given access to member areas. If you are an approved user and still can't log in, please contact us.
     
  I didn't receive an email after I submitted my online application/request. What should I do?
   

Your ISP or email service provider may have set up an email filter for you. Please add us (ehill.org) to your allowed senders list.

  What is the system requirements to use online classroom?
    We currently only support Windows OS. Kindly refer to system requirement page for more details.
     
  Do I need to sign up any contract with you?
    Users (students and tutors) do not need to sign a contract with eHillTutor to use our services, but users are subject to the Terms of Use. It is the tutor's responsibility to talk to students in the event of cancellation. Ditto for students.
     

 

 

Tutor Questions

 

  How much is the pay?
    You choose between $10-$25/hr. Students pay directly to you.
     
  When I find a student that I would like to tutor, how do I contact him/her?
    There are three ways, contact them via phone, send them a message via anonymous email or send them a message via our private messaging service. The first one is the recommended way since it will ensure a better response
     
  Do students need to contact ehill when they find a tutor so that their name can be deleted from the student list?
    When a student requests service from ehill, we send them an email that has a link. By clicking the link, their request will be removed. This same link also appears in any message a tutor may send via anonymous email. .
     
  If I would like to commit to become a tutor, is there a minimum amount of hours I am required to work? What are the average hours per week?
    Tutors need not commit to any amount of hours. The hours you work are dependent on student requests.
     
  How does the tutoring service work?
    After your application has been approved, you can search the student list in our member area and offer them your services. Some students prefer in-person lessons, some prefer online tutoring.
     
  How many tutees can I have? Is there a minimum or maximum?
    The number of tutees is dependent on your experience and performance.
     
  How is the tuition fee received from students/parents?
    The payment method is negotiable between tutors and students/parents. Paypal, check or money order, or direct deposit are some suggested methods of payment.
     
  How can I make sure I receive the payment from students?
    It is the tutor's responsibility to discuss all tuition fees and related issues (for example: pay rate, payment in advance, or payment after the service, etc.) with the student before you provide service. Make sure you are comfortable with the student and the agreed payment method before tutoring begins.
     
  Can you give me the email addresses of your approved tutors, so that I can ask them questions before I apply?
    According to our privacy policy, We do not give the contact information of our users (tutors and students) to any third party for any purpose. We are in the process of obtaining feedback and testimonials from our users and will post this information on our webpage soon.
     
  I couldn't submit my application/request online, what should I do?
    If you are still unable to submit your application after several attempts, please contact us at the email address support@ehill.org. Please make sure you read our user agreement. Make sure you are able to receive our emails by modifying your email preference if your ISP or email service provider has set up a spam filter for you.

  I can't get my fax to go through. The line is busy. What should I do?
    Please use our alternative fax lines. You may also scan your credentials into images and email the zipped images to cert@ehill.org.
     
  I do not have fax machine or scanner, how can I send you my credentials?
    Do either one of below:

Option 1- Go to any copy center or stationery shop in your area, they should have fax service available. This is faster than Option 2

Option 2- Download Scan Sheet. Fill it out, print it, and mail it together with your credentials to the address below (Max 3 pages including the Scan Sheet) Be sure your name, subject, academic institution name and logo are legibly printed on your credentials.   I have submitted my online application and faxed my credentials to you. When will I know if I've been accepted?
    Within 7 days.
     
  How do parents/students verify with you that they are eligible/legit students needing help?
    We are sorry to say that we do not currently run background checks on students. It is the tutor's responsibility to discuss all tutoring services with students before tutoring begins. Make sure you are comfortable with every situation.
